Yesterday we went to the store and saw a very strange fruit in the produce section and we decided to take it home with us to investigate. Turns out it is a kiwano or horned melon.
We found the basic steps online and got started. First cutting it in half.
Then you squeeze out the little seed sacks and enjoy.
The final decision… I thought it tasted like banana (which just happens to be my least favorite fruit ever) and Scott thought it tasted like kiwi ( another of my least favorite fruit.) In the end Scott enjoyed basically all of the melon and I drank lots of water to get rid of the banana flavors in my mouth!
