our first edamame

We decided to try our had at soybeans this summer and so far they have been growing very well. The only down sides have been that the Japanese beetles love to chow down on their leaves and that we didn’t plant more! Last night we pick just a few to see if they are ready yet. We boiled them in lemon water and salt for 5 minutes added lemon juice and salt then had a snack.

today 018  They were plump and wonderful. We can’t to have the rest this weekend.
